Does my dog really think a bird is a squirrel?

Her first time of seeing a squirrel it ran up a tree. She tried to follow.

Now when passing a tree near to our home she spotted a wood pigeon. Although she has seen them before and never taken notice she stands watching the bird with ears perked and eyes twinkling.

Each tree she passes she looks up to the branches even when nothing is there.Does my dog really think a bird is a squirrel?
Fuzzy running thing flips the switch- she is programmed to chase and she does- she has no choice. She knows all about ground- it's a flat grassy universe and she is mastering it nose to the ground- she has a shot of getting that prey- then holy crap! that little b*stard just shot straight up the m*f*ing tree!!! All of a sudden puppy's universe is expanded into an entire other dimension- that of ';UP';... the human has no conception of how huge this revelation is- IT'S ANOTHER FREAKING DIMENSION! Before there was ground and it went on forever in every direction your nose could lead you, then in a split second you lift your head and there's ';UP';. It goes on forever, but you can't go there, but those damn squirrels and birds can... her little furry mind is blown

Nose does no good in ';UP'; (meaning 80% of her senses are useless), eyes are everything in ';UP'; (meaning a feeble 10% of her senses now the only tool)... but it's not going to stop her from getting those tree loving b*stards one day- just wait.

She'll be thinking a lot about ';UP'; and those tantalizing critters that inhabit it, so far beyond her reach. Wish I was a puppy again...Does my dog really think a bird is a squirrel?
Get your dog a different dictionary.
Well, that's dogs for you. Always looking for a chance to chase something!!
She is living in hope.
