the hav-a-hart box trap works great, bait it with peanut butterHow do you trap a squirrel without killing it, just want to remove him from property?
A squirrel trap.
It's a wire box that you put bait into. Mr. Squirrel goes in and the door shuts. No injuries.
Call your local animal control and humane society offices. They often loan out such traps. Best bait: Peanut butter on some old stale bread.
Just call your local animal control. They will set a trap and remove him to a sanctuary so he can play with other squirrels.
use a live trap and bait the little guy in with peanuy butter
They make squirrel traps. Buy one. I guess you could build one, but squirrels can be fairly difficult to trap if you get a really clever one.
Are you Karen O from the Yeah Yeah Yeah's? If so, helloo
Climp a tree and make a sound like a nut, when he comes to you reach out and grab him. lol just kidding. Honestly, get a cat.
Use a ';Hav-A-Heart'; trap to secure the little rascal.
You made me think of something so funny. My brother was trying to catch a squirrel who chewed out his screen in his kitchen window and was snacking on whatever he left on the kitchen counter, It was hornory enough to chew open a pak of raisin bread and pig out. He set a wire cage trap outside in order to catch the little varmint. It turns out he accidentally caught a skunk instead and his wife (who is bulgarian and very new to the USA) thought it was a cat. It sprayed her more than once. She was whacking at at the cage with a hoe trying to turn it loose, and it was getting more and more pissed off. You could smell skunk spray about 10 blocks away for weeks. The whole neighborhood was griping about the odor, and my brother ended up burying his wifes clothes in a garbage bag in the back yard. All I can say is make sure you catch a squirrel, and not some other critter, and make sure you know the difference between a black cat and a skunk! HAHAHAHAH!!!!
I don't know about trapping it, but you could keep it from you property by spreading white pepper in your yard and along side your drive/walkway. they don't like the smell, and it kinda gets their paws alot warm. Hold the calls and emails PETA and SPCA, this is harmless, it doesn't kill them or harm them in anyway.
I think you will find that you have more than one! You can call your county animal control to see if they can lend you a trap. If not, this has been found to work. Rubber snakes bought from a discount or dollar store will scare them away. Place them in planters that they dig in and also in other places like under a BBQ grill (the attraction is the grease catcher cup).
Or try using a ';Have A Hart'; trap, they are easy to set and you can release the animal outside. Then you need to make necessary repairs so they will not return.
You can also buy traps that don't harm them online or at stores for as little as $30.95
